A fire storage center
A Fire storage center was the prey of the flames during the night from Thursday to Friday on Notre-Dame Street in Montreal, a hundred firefighters worked to control the fire.
The investigation was transferred to the fire investigators of the Montreal Police Department (SPVM) to determine what could have caused this fire, reported Benoit Boisselle, SPVM spokesman.
It was not long after 2:30 that a security guard noticed the flames coming out of the warehouse. He immediately alerted the firemen. No one was inside the building when the fire broke out. The safety officer worked in a cabin adjacent to the building, which houses the Garport container storage and rental company.
The fire quickly spread after the flames hit a lot of wooden pallets. Although the structure is made of steel, the building has suffered heavy damage especially at the roof.
Notre-Dame Street West was closed to traffic between Saint-Pierre Street and Angrignon Boulevard until 6:30 am.
No one was injured during the fire.
